Cafe Femenino is a project setup to support and empower women coffee producers around the world. It's been many years since we last had their coffee and we are very pleased to welcome this one back. The coffee is produced by around 800 women coffee producers. They grow a range of different varietals including Typica, Bourbon and Villa Sarchi. Coffee is hand harvested and delivered to local collection centers and taken for processing at a wet mill. Coffee is pulped to removed the fruit, washed and then sun dried. This is a really great example of clean, juicy and well balanced organic coffee produced in Peru. The following is taken from the Cafe Femenino website and explains a bit more about the project: 'Women in remote and rural coff­ee communities face a host of challenges that keep them trapped in poverty. Many of these isolated women live in male- dominated societies and have very little financial control or decision-making power.
