In 2001 while recovering from a near-fatal bike crash, a broken neck and with plenty of time to think, Kurt Stewart’s passion for the world of coffee lit up and hasn’t flickered since. Over 10 years on Volcano Coffee Works continues to deliver ethical and great-tasting coffees, inspired by the coffee that Kurt grew up with in New Zealand. Volcano has now grown to a team of 30 passionate people and Kurt remains the beating heart of their family and continues to roast the first batch of coffee each day.
Volcano Coffee Works believe in environmentally sustainable and ethically traded coffee and work with partners all over the world who actively engage in community-based improvements. Their ethical trading principles ensure that their successes benefit the entire supply chain and beyond, from direct initiatives at origin to local communities here in the UK. With a belief that coffee doesn’t have to be complicated, Volcano are passionate about producing incredible tasting coffee while making a positive impact and have been certified as carbon neutral.
