Small batch roaster & winner of 43 Fine Food Taste awards

Monsoon Estates is a traditional craft coffee roastery based near Stratford upon Avon, hand roasting small batches of coffee in a relentless quest to find the perfect cup of coffee.

“We know it’s not possible of course, but it’s a journey of discovery and we’re always getting closer”.

Chris,  (or Mr Monsoon as he is affectionately known) and his wife Anne developed their love of good coffee whilst living in Europe and later Australia. On their return to the UK they struggled to find decent speciality coffee and ended up roasting their own.  In 2010 they invested in a Toper roaster from Turkey and started selling coffee at a local market in their spare time and Monsoon Estates Coffee was born.

In August 2012 they won their first ‘Great Taste Award’ for their Nicaraguan Maragogype coffee, winning a 2 Star Gold award.  Commonly known as elephant beans because of their large size the coffee has a lovely rich and nutty taste. Medium roasted it is great for filter or cafetiere although some people like it as a sweeter, brighter espresso. Later that year they moved into a new roastery and they haven’t looked back.

In 2017 they installed a second Probat roaster to help us keep their customers in coffee and they also started employing a larger team. They now have 5 full time staff:  Ailie, Jonny, Diane, Siena and Lynn to help make sure your orders get to you on time.

They continue to explore the world of coffee; looking for new and interesting beans, continue to learn about the roasting process and they still sell their coffee at the weekly markets in Stratford and Warwick so why not go along and say hi.
