Bookkisa is the name of the hamlet where the 33 farmers responsible for this coffee are located — each farm has an average size of just 2.55 hectares. The coffee grows under a canopy of natural forest, typical of coffee in the Guji area. The diligent drying process is what sets these drying stations apart, with tags for the specific delivery of coffee, the start of drying and the relative moisture content readings each day. The station is property of a group of smallholder farmers, who also purchase coffee from growers in their vicinity.
